Lifestyle The Lipstick Fever

THE LATEST

Ok it has been a MINUTE since I’ve updated my blog!  I figured I’d pop in to share a few quick updates/ things I’m loving lately from from across the pond 🙂 A little #LYFE round-up if you will.

BEAUTY – You guys know I love a good matte lip, ALWAYS.  The one I’m wearing in these photos is MAC matte liquid lipstick in ‘Burnt Spice’.  I’m also loving Tan-Luxe tanning drops, hair oil (more on that in an upcoming post), Fenty highlighter which is NO joke ppl, and Living Proof dry volume spray to pump up my fine hair.

TRAVEL – Ah, SO much travel coming up in the next few months and I can’t wait to share more and more content on stories and my IG on this!  Part of living in London / Europe means taking advantage of all the amazing Euro cities at your literal #doorstep.  Last weekend was Lisbon (highlights included: ginginha, Minibar, the hike to Castelo de S. Jorge, and Ramiro which was the best shellfish I’ve had in my life)  Next up: Italy, Greece, and maybe South of France!?

EDU – For those of you that don’t know this about me, I worked in digital media (adtech) for 6 years in NYC.  When I moved to London, I decided to make the jump and blog full-time!  It’s been the most rewarding experience so far, but a freaking roller coaster, especially living + working in a new market (UK from US).  To keep myself both educated and motivated, I’m always reading books around social media, influencer marketing, and entrepreneurship.  My two favorites lately are ‘Crushing It’ by Gary Vaynerchuk and ‘Tribe of Mentors’ by Tim Ferriss.

WELLNESS – When you hit 30 I feel like your mentality shifts a bit, in a healthy way.  For me, that was taking my nutrition and fitness habits more seriously, and really focusing on taking care of my body.

  • After the new year I promised myself I’d get into a ‘no bullshit’ fitness routine.  That meant getting out of my lazy girl workout routine (1-2 classes per week, maybe a barre class here, a yoga class there).  I told myself I’d finally get STRONG.  I joined a gym nearby, and started getting into boxing and HIIT workouts.  They’ve been a game changer and keep me toned.
  • Secondly, I’ve been doing a lot more plant-based meals.  I’ve even been experimenting with vegan recipes (love the blog Plant Based Jane for recipes!) To note, I am NOT Vegan (I like cheeseburgers too much) but when I do choose to indulge or have meat, it tastes so much better when I’ve been good to my body all week long. Or it might be because I love the challenge of creating vegan meals that actually taste good!   Chickpea pasta is the best, and nutritional yeast is amazing for adding flavor to vegan meals.
  • Lastly, I got on that ACV train (apple cider vinegar for those that don’t know) – each morning I make a detox drink with 2 tablespoons of this stuff with warm water and a squeeze of lemon (add some honey to help with the taste).  It helps detoxify the body and jumpstart your digestion situation.

FASHUN – I’m SO into athleisure lately! I feel like since the new year started, I’ve been looking for ways to spice things up.  It hasn’t helped that it’s felt like THE longest winter ever!  Erm, it even snowed here in London last week, like WTF?  Ok back to my point.  Lately I love pairing hoodies with blazers and leather jackets, dressing up a sneakers look, and wide leg pants.  Kinda obsessed with being comfortable, ya know? Shop this look below a la Nasty Gal!
