305 FUN

Wow I missed Miami.  I hadn’t been since college, and I have to say this current trip kind of woke me up from (what seemed like) a winter coma.  I was itching to get down to the 305 for some sun, sand and great eats.  With just a long weekend to work with, I feel like my boyfriend and I managed to squeeze in a ton.  Below I’ve listed some of the spots that we ate it, in addition to some of the restaurants, try as we might, we couldn’t even get into.  I highly recommend hitting up at least half of these places if you have the time.  Happy eating and drinking <3

Hotel Rundown – We stayed at the SLS hotel in South beach.  This hotel was very trendy yet also had that boutique vibe that I love.  They have two great restaurants in the hotel (Katsuya and The Bazaar).  We met up with a college friend at The W South Beach. Their pool area alone was gorgeous and totally felt like paradise. The Delano is beautiful and is a true Miami staple.  If you don’t stay there, go grab a cocktail on their back patio area.  The Mondrian, I hear, is also a popular spot with great views and a stunning pool area as well.

Katsuya – Conveniently located where we stayed (SLS Hotel), Katsuya had amazing sushi and asian fusion options.  The service there was spot on.  You’ve gotta try any specialty sushi roll in addition to their Katsuya ceviche with truffle infusion amazingness (um, anything truffle and I’m in).

Yardbird – This place gets insanely busy.  I mean, around the clock type of busy.  Try to get a reservation or just get there early.  We tried to hit up this place for sunday brunch but there were tons of groups outside waiting and we needed to get to the airport 🙁  A few friends, however, vouched for this place saying that the small plates and fried chicken were on point.  Get there.  It should be worth the hype.

BTW – So proud of my boyfriend and I for hunting down this place.  We wanted to do a casual dinner the first night and started yelping / googling as we contemplated what we were in the mood for.  We fell upon BTW, which was close by.  This restaurant is brought to you by the same team that opened up Yardbird.  We ate here twice in a 4 day trip.  BTW…aka Burger Taco Whiskey can do no wrong.  Their burgers were great, nachos and tacos on point, and well, whiskey cocktails?  Just say yes.  Not to mention, the vibe of this place is that of an outdoor backyard patio with adorable lighting and friendly service.  Win.

Juvia – Within the open Lincoln Road mall lies Juvia.  My boss and co-workers highly recommended this spot.  The view alone from their rooftop is well worth the trip.  There is plenty of lounge space for great cocktails and they have dinner inside as well.  This was a really cool space with that fun miami vibe.  You can’t go wrong.

Casa Tua – Casa Tua is hands down, one of my favorite spots in Miami.  I had gone during my college days and returned for an amazing dinner.  Their pasta dishes are unreal and the vibe is very upscale “shi shi”.  If you’re trying to impress friends, a significant other, or family member, then Casa Tua is the perfect option.
