I stumbled upon a new restaurant called Santina with some friends last weekend while having a day in the meatpacking district. This place is essentially a glass box directly underneath the entrance to the high line. For those of you who don’t live in NYC, the high line is a structure created from old railroad tracks. It has now been turned into a park with beautiful gardens and architectural delights (aka, a tourist’s dream come true).
The aesthetic of this place was so lavish, I instantly fell in love. You literally feel like you’re at a tropical resort, surrounded by various greenery and beautiful chandeliers made of glass in the most exotic colors. They also make a mean cocktail and have the friendliest bar staff. I can’t vouch for the food just yet, but this place was bumpin’. I’m talking, impossible to get a seat kind of bumpin’. Santina is brought to you by the same team that created Carbone, which simply, is a New York staple. If for nothing else, check it out for the chandeliers and fun beachy vibe. Cheers!
